No. FuelWatch uses an external, non-invasive ultrasonic sensor that straps or pastes onto the outside of the tank. It measures fuel level through the tank wall — no cutting, no drilling, no risk to your warranty or tank integrity.

FuelWatch flags siphoning when fuel drops faster than physically possible from normal engine use — by default, more than 10 litres lost within 5 minutes while the truck is stationary. You can adjust this sensitivity in Settings to match your trucks' tank sizes and typical routes.

A Siphon alert means fuel is actively being drained from the tank. A Tamper alert means the sensor itself appears to have been disconnected, frozen, or shorted — for example if someone disconnects the sensor wire to hide a theft in progress. Both show up clearly in your dashboard with different colors so dispatchers can tell them apart at a glance.

Yes. SMS alerts can be enabled per-truck in Settings → Notifications. They're delivered via Africa's Talking and arrive within seconds of a siphon or tamper event being detected.

M-Pesa, credit/debit card, and direct bank transfer (Equity Bank or I&M Bank). All are available from your Fleet Portal under Billing & Renewal once you're signed in.

You get a 14-day grace period after your renewal date — your dashboard keeps working, with a reminder banner shown. If payment still hasn't been received after the grace period, your account is suspended until renewal, at which point access is restored automatically.

There's a one-time hardware + installation fee per truck, plus an annual renewal fee per truck covering data, SMS alerts, support, and platform access. Your exact rate is shown in your Fleet Portal under Billing.

A Teltonika FMB920 GPS unit paired with an external ultrasonic fuel level sensor. The tracker reports GPS position, speed, and ignition state, while the sensor reports fuel level — both feed into FuelWatch in real time over the cellular network.
